Dust, human waste, food and general grime can accumulate in any electronic device, and can cause it to malfunction and not to mention how anti aesthetic the results can be. Obviously the best way to remove all debris from the devices is hiring a special cleaning service, but if you wish to make one on your own, here are the most useful tips to achieve proper cleaning!

General Precautions

As these are electronic devices, they must have certain basic considerations for handling and strictly comply by them. Remember that it may even be life threatening due to the electrical current.

  • Before handling any object that is connected to electricity, you should unplug it, without exception.
  • The manuals of each device usually lists the recommendations and most appropriate methods to clean them, those instructions take precedence over any recommendations of others.
  • Never spray cleaning fluids directly on the components of a computer. It must always be on a cloth.
  • Do not allow any liquid to run or drip near the devices. Never leave them wet.
  • Do not use strong solvents or caustic, typically, the devices are not prepared to resist those.
  • Some devices are very sensitive, never be to rough handling them.
  • Compressed air devices are useful for cleaning dust for some devices, they always clean better than traditional blowing.
  • The anti-static wipes are great to attract dust.
  • Alcohol can only be used on some surfaces. Usually you should avoid it as its use because it can discolor surfaces.
