Intel added a new ultra-low voltage Celeron processor to its line. The Intel Celeron 787 has a single core 1.3 GHz, 1MB L3 cache and a TDP of only 17W. It is made with a 32nm Sandy Bridge architecture, and as such has an integrated HD 2000 graphics core with a reduced frequency of 350MHz. Hyper Threading or No Turbo Boost, only basic technologies such as virtualization and Intel 64.

Considering the modest TDP that Intel has achieved and its price of $107, the Celeron 787 is a very good choice for limited budgets. However, if you're looking for something a little more powerful, Intel plans to offer four new Core i7 processors within the next month. The quartet that is, which is scheduled for the last quarter of 2011, including three quad-core models (the i7-2960XM Extreme Edition, i7-i7-2860QM and 2760QM) and i7-2640M dual core.

The I7-2960XM EE is the fastest of the group with 2.7 GHz but with up to 3.7 GHz Turbo It supports 8 threads, 8MB of L3 cache and a 55W TDP. The Core i7-2860QM is similar in some respects only has a lower TDP of 45W, 2.5 GHz (3.6 GHz Turbo), and has an open multiplier. The Core i7-2760QM maintains 45W TDP but low frequency to 2.4 GHz (3.5 GHz Turbo) and only has 6MB of L3 cache.

Finally, the Core i7-2640M dual core has support for 4-core, 2.8 GHz (3.5 GHz Turbo), 4MB L3 cache and a TDP of 35W. The four chips have a HD 3000 graphics core 650 MHz (up to 1300MHz on the Turbo model), but pricing has not yet released for these models.
