How to discover the IP of an email in Gmail Yahoo Hotmail and AOL
Email is a communication channel is very important line in our lives, sometimes we are afraid because our account got hacked or stolen and have lost all the information found there.
Occasionally we receive emails from dubious sources and would like to know where this email got sent to us or even who it is who sends them.
If you suffer from such attacks, there are ways to reveal the IP address to discover the origin of these emails. As we know, the IP address is a number which identifies each of the world's internet connections, or if we want to detect where an email is coming we just have to get this number.
IP numbers have a structure like this: 210.68.212.45
Each email service has a different way to find it, so we here is the first one.
Gmail
After we entered our inbox and open the mail of which want to reveal its IP at top right of the email we find the button "reply" and then a triangle. Press this triangle and select "show original". Now it deploys a new window with a more detailed mail format. Here we find where it says "Received: from" the number followed and verify the IP address already explained earlier. If several numbers appear grouped in this style, the latter is correct.
Hotmail
After we access our account we right click on the mail we want to see and choose "Show message source" (View Message Source). Here again we click where it says "received: from", and the series of numbers that will appear is the IP address of the person who sent the mail. If more than one list of numbers as we explained, the latter is correct.
YahooMail
Basically you find it the same way as Hotmail. The only difference is that when we press the right mouse button on the mail option choose "View Full Headers" or "see the full header."
AOL
The mechanism is repeated and is quite similar to the method in Gmail. Open your inbox, then mail, and on top find a list of options such as reply, delete, etc.. In the same area there is a triangle that has more options. Among these options is "View Full Headers" or "View Full Header". Click here. Then it opens a window in which the IP address of the email that will be preceded by "X-AOL." Pretty simple.
Finally, we should remember that there are several cases that may not show the IP address. For example, if the messenger sends the mail using a proxy IP address if so, those do not appear.
