Download images from Google Maps easily
If you've ever had the need to download an image from Google Maps and you could not or had to resort to the famous screenshots, I would recommend an application that will put this complicated task easier.
The application is not free but worth paying for it if you need to download images frequently. It is not really a single application but two different applications: one for Google Maps and one for satellite imagery.
It is very easy to run. The first thing you do is enter a project name or open an existing one. Then define 4 parameters as coordinates to define the area to keep (you can get the coordinates by clicking the right mouse button and selecting "What's here?. You also have to decide the level of precision (zoom) you want.
It only remains to define the number of download tasks (threads) you want to do at once. And finally, you have to decide where to store all that. At the end of the process in a log you can see everything that has happened. You can download the Google maps version: http://www.allallsoft.com/gmd/download.html. The version for satellite imagery: http://www.allallsoft.com/gsmd/download.html
