Microsoft confirmed the arrival of Windows 8 in 2012
Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, has used its presence in Tokyo to announce, before a group of developers, the next version of its operating system, Windows 8 will reach the market next year. It is the first time since Microsoft confirmed the 2012 date for the launch of Windows 8.
Ballmer also said they expect a lot of Windows 8, which may be seen in both tablets and in computers and other devices. On this occasion, after confirming the date, Microsoft's chief also confirmed the name of the next Windows.
Released in 2012 places Windows 8 three years behind the release of Windows 7, which hit the market in July 2009. Microsoft expects to sell more than 350 million copies of Windows 7 this year. Traditionally the company has relied on new versions of its operating system to accelerate sales
Among other things it is expected that the operating system has an updated user interface and supports the ARM chip, in addition to Intel and AMD.
