The dream of being able to easily broadcast audio / video via wireless to any TV or projector is finally a reality. The solution has come from the hand of Devolo and their new TV Vianect AIR

Devolo Vianect AIR TV Review

Devolo's product is a device that uses the possibilities of the expected wireless USB (USB-IF) to transmit audio and video from any laptop or desktop whether Windows / Mac to a  base that incorporates HDMI, VGA and audio minijack for stereo .

Installation is fairly simple and, in general, the signal can be transmitted to the TV in minutes without touching virtually nothing. However, we must discuss some things that we have encountered.

The first is that on Mac Snow Leopard we have been unable to make it work. It seems that the controller generates a conflict with our system that systematically made it to crash by detecting the signal. Regarding Windows 7, the thing was much better, with very good speed transmission, which we could not see any delays and allowed us to play movies from services like Megavideo or YouTube without any issues.

Of course, stability remains a subject for the drivers of this platform, it also suffered an unexpected reboot of the system. We hope that this kind of failures will be resolved in future versions of the software. Finally, although it is probably due to the 480 Mbps theoretical maximum speed offered by the USB-IF, we lose the ability to play full HD 1080p content.
