Netflix estimated to lose one million subscribers
For U.S. businesses, the company cut its forecast for subscribers after raising prices. A week ago announced its earnings.
Netflix, the DVD rental company by mail and distribution of movies via the web, cut its forecast of new customers for the third quarter by a million people, as a result of having raised its monthly fee of $10 to $ S16.
According to the quarterly report to shareholders, the company estimated that its portfolio would reach 24 million members, rather than the previously expected 25 million. However, with the delivery of third quarter results will be known which was the actual price increase.
Following this announcement, shares of Netflix Nasdaq lost 25.34% in the last two days.
September 7 last, Netflix began operations in Latin America. In Argentina offers streaming service to $39 per month.
Probably going to get worse for them when other content owners re-negotiate. It's too bad a company that comes out with a great idea is beholden to the old dinosaurs of the industry.
