Apple releases Mac OS X Lion to 30 new MacBook Air

Apple officially launched the next major update for its operating system: OS X 10.7 codenamed Lion. The update is available on the Mac App Store as an update to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - you need version 10.6.8 installed on your machine. The eighth major release introduces over 250 new features and 3000 APIs for developers, including new features such as auto-save and restore for different applications, and several other options listed here.

The download is only 4GB costs $ 30 and can be installed on multiple Macs associated with a specific iTunes account. It requires a machine with an Intel Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM. Mac OS X Lion will come with all new Macs, including new versions of the MacBook Air (11 and 13 inches) that were released today and available for free to all who have purchased an Apple Mac from one of its authorized distributors after June 6, 2011 - if the upgrade request until 30 days after purchase.

As mentioned earlier, the company has renewed its line of super-thin MacBook Air laptop, to include Thunderbolt technology and the latest Intel Sandy Bridge, as expected its keyboards of all these models will have a backlight.

The 11-inch model is available in two configurations: one with an Intel Core i5-2467M 1.6 GHz, 2GB RAM, 64GB of flash a retail price of $ 999, and the other offers twice the RAM and flash storage for $1199. The  13-inch MacBook Air on the other hand offers an Intel Core i7-2637M 1.7 GHz, 4GB RAM, and 128GB or 256GB for $ 1299 or $ 1599. Among the settings is a Core i7-2677M 1.8 GHz and more storage space, but unfortunately there is no stand alone graphics only Intel integrated HD 3000.
